I work with established business owners and CEOs who are building high-performing teams, eventually becoming companies that no longer depend on the founder for every decision, conversation, or crisis. But it wasn't always like this. In fact, my career began in environments where leadership was reactive, people were stepping up without support, and burnout was treated as the cost of success — places where I saw firsthand how bad systems create good people who struggle.

But even then, I was drawn to leadership. I was the kid who told his mother he wanted to be a leader long before I understood what that meant. I was encouraged to serve, to volunteer, to step up. As I grew into management roles early in my career, I learned powerful lessons the hard way: the consequences when leaders aren't trained, the consequences when culture is ignored, and the consequences when people are managed instead of developed.

Finally, I got the opportunity that changed everything: I stepped into people-focused leadership roles where I could design culture, coach leaders, and build teams intentionally, not reactively. That's when everything clicked. What started as leadership work turned into a calling. I realized organizations didn't need more policies — they needed better leadership frameworks.

Just when it looked like success was within reach, I still faced setbacks: clients who weren't ready, leaders who resisted change, and businesses that wanted quick fixes instead of real transformation. But I kept showing up. I kept refining my frameworks, listening deeper, and doing the work even when the results weren't immediate.

After years of navigating poor leadership models, trial-and-error management, and watching businesses plateau because people systems were an afterthought, the breakthroughs came. Leaders became confident. Teams became accountable. Founders got their time, and their sanity, back. That was when I felt like I had finally discovered the answers.

And when I look back, the "rags" are what give meaning to the "riches." Every mismanaged team, every burned-out leader, every moment of frustration shaped my mission today: To help business owners break the cycle of ineffective leadership and build teams that don't just work harder — but work better, together.
